Book Club
The Book Group at St. Ann’s is ready to expand. The current group is at an ideal size, so it may be time to start a second group soon. If you would be interested in leading or attending a second Book Group, please contact Rev. Conley.
In 2011 our St. Ann’s Book Group typically included about 8-10 members each month, which is a near-ideal size for a stimulating, inclusive discussion and general connectedness.
At our December meeting we tried to identify our “favorite” book of 2011. We finally decided we couldn’t reach a consensus – – about five different books were nominated. Obviously, we thought it was a good list.
Here it is, so you can decide what you might like to read:
The Tenth Parallel by Eliza Griswold
Parrot and Olivier in America by Peter Carey
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
The Beast in the Garden by Eric Larson
Started Early, Took My Dog by Kate Atkinson
Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore
Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson
State of Wonder by Ann Patchett
The Immortal Life if Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Lacks
